SUMMER CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST
2008 WINNER
My Life at Village Books
by Eve Capitti
Pacific Palisades has been my home for
my whole life.
But one special thing that I really love about Pacific Palisades is the
book store, Village Books.
Village Books is like my second home. The
wonderful place surrounds me of the two things I like most, books and
sweet, caring friends. Some of my closest friends are Katie the owner,
Mia, Danielle, Barbara, Jessie, Andrea, and, Connie.
They are like my extended family. Not only
do they help me find amazing books, but also they have given me great
friends for a lifetime.
One of my favorite memories of Village Books
was going on the Fourth of July Village Books Harry Potter float in 2007
with everyone on staff. It was a great day!
They are like extra brothers and sisters
to me. They are always there for my family and I. For instance if my family
is going on a quick getaway, we can always relay on the Village Books
staff to take care of our dogs, Joey and Ruby. Another time is, when I
got published in the Palisades Post, they were right there congratulating
me. (they even gave me a book!)
There logo really comes to me, Big
enough to serve you, small enough to know you Because it
is true. They have an amazing Varity of books to choose from, yet they
will remember your face and say hi if they see you again. So the next
time you go to Village Books say thank you to the staff for creating this
spectacular place.
